Concerns have been raised over a recently announced high speed rail line between Berlin and Warsaw. Many in Poland feel that the connection is far from necessary. The Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Stanislav Polkowski, stated, “There are already more than enough avenues for the German people to move toward Warsaw.” The general populace of Warsaw is also worried about the possible influx, as Polish citizens far from welcome the thought of a veritable army of Germans entering their territory. Due to highly mechanized production techniques, completion of the line is slated for September first.
